For the past twelve years, Ian has operated as an interim manager and trainer in a variety of different businesses accross many sectors. He specialises in restoring confidence, either as a trainer or interim manager, to the business numbers so that management have sound data on which to make decisions.
In addition to working with private companies, he delivers training workshops with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and with Action Development Group. Key features of his workshops are that they are jargon free and are essentially practical and participative. When presenting financial material to non-accountants he uses practical exercises and relevant examples to reinforce key learning points.
He studied Mathematics at the University of Oxford followed by part time study at Nottingham Trent University, where he achieved a Distinction in the Diploma in Management Studies.
His early experience / career was with Rolls-Royce Aero Engine and Nuclear Submarine Divisions, Fisons plc, Philips Electronics and Whitecroft plc acroos Europe. It was during the time at Fisons that he studied and passed the examinations of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
For thirteen years, he held senior accounting roles with Philips Electronics, including Financial Controller. His final role before becoming a trainer / consultant was as Divisional Financial Controller of Whitecroft plc
Ian now works throughout Europe and the Middle East.
